Item Description
Size 7 single solid ring with inscription on top with half of the word "Union" in red and the other half in blue. On first glance this ring would appear to be carved from ivory or bone. However it it extremely light weight and the surfaces have a nice gloss to them so we think this is actually made of a material patented by Alexander Parkes in 1856 created from cellulose treated with nitric acid as a solvent and dubbed Parkesine by its inventor. Surface of the ring has a few pinpoint dots and tiny stress lines but nothing that reaches the level of a crack. The oldest ring we've ever offered.
