Item Description
1.75" without dot pattern and with union bug stamp on reverse showing the famous "Duncan Sisters" with one in black face as "Topsy" and the other as "Eva" in their signature roles in a 1923 musical comedy derived from the novel Uncle Tom's Cabin, see ticket from 1885 as item #1434. The sisters began their stage career in 1911 and became stars on the Vaudeville circuit as well as in nightclubs and on stage in both New York and London. "Topsy & Eva" was a huge hit in its day and inspired a 1927 silent movie which included some scenes by famed director D.W. Griffith. Couple tiny faint age dots over the word "Duncan" but still NM and displaying so. We've seen only one or two in five decades.
