Item Description
This is the first example we've seen of this 1.25" button. Upper half of the white rim has some noticeable tan age stains and lower half has just a little darker tone but not reaching the spotting level. The piece still has full color and displays with nice gloss. This character was created in 1954 by Mick Anglo as a United Kingdom version of America's Captain Marvel. The comic books appeared in the United Kingdom from 1954 to 1963 with a revival in 1982. Years of litigation accompanied this character. In America, the character is also known as Miracleman for trademark reasons. In 2009 Marvel Comics purchased the rights to the Marvelman character. A rare 1950s button.
