5.5” tall tin litho. 1930s by Ohio Art. Embossed design features Donald laughing hysterically as he watches Goofy dunk Pluto under water. Running by him with a harpoon are Mickey’s nephews. In the book “Comic Character Metal Sand Toys” by Doug & Pat Wengel, there are two different versions of this pail shown (but neither are this embossed variety), one is smaller 5” size while the other matches this size and has raised bottom. Neatly repainted cream interior and bottom rim. No paint touch-ups of any kind done to the art. This does show scattered wear/aging w/some paint nicks/scratches and some traces of aging of the paint but all remains totally bright w/high gloss finish as made. Still displays Fine. We have only offered this pail rarity one other time, in Fine condition but w/o any repaint, and it sold for $1,900. Very conservative opening bid based on this.
