Item Description
Issued in mid 1930s by Beech-Nut who sponsored Chandu program on radio. Each puzzle is contained in approx. 2.25x5x2" deep double box. Outerboxes have some creasing, one has tears to mailing label. Fine. Inner boxes are tight and Exc. Each comes with a 4x5" folded single sheet promo paper that unfolds to 5.5x8". Each list the virtues of various Beech-Nut products from crackers to bacon to chili sauce along w/brief history of painting puzzle enclosed. One folder has tie-in to puzzles as text promotes "How To Solve A Mealtime Puzzle" by using Beech-Nut products. Folders have aging, one has 2" tear at fold line, Fine. Puzzles are "The Night Watch" by Rembrandt and The Civic Guard" by Frans Hals. Both have over 150 pieces. "The Night Watch" is missing one piece near center, o/w Exc. "The Civic Guard" is complete, Exc. Unusual and rare, this is the first time we have offered either of these in our 46 years.
