5.75x7.5x1” deep box contains complete set of 40 stiff 2.5x3-5/8” cards. Selchow & Righter by “Permission N.Y. Herald.” Likely c. 1904-1906. Cards show only the slightest trace of wear and are VF-Exc. overall. Along with circus characters and animals, individual cards show The Yellow Kid, Billy Bear and black girl Topsy plus Buster Brown on all 40 cards. Box lid paper label has great illustration of Buster Brown and Tige with fat clown. R.F. Outcault facsimile signature below art. Lid corners show wear with all split and 4” split at edge radiating from corner. VG.
