Item Description
Lot of three 7" dia. tin litho toys w/built-in keys. Multiple versions of this toy were produced by Marx starting in 1928, presented here is an example from the 1920s and a pair from the 1930s, one w/attached, revolving airplane on wire. Base of 1920s version shows locomotive traveling through countryside. Top is designed w/circular railroad track and separate tin attachments of three brick tunnels which 2.25" long steam locomotive and passenger cars pass through. This example has a "Richmond" train station building at center. Faded w/scattered paint nicks/scratches. Works. VG. Bases of the 1930s toys feature mountain landscapes and a city scene on sides. Tops are designed w/circular railroad track and separate tin attachments of a two brick tunnels and a steel bridge which 2.25" locomotives w/passenger and cargo cars (variety w/plane) pass through. These examples also have train stations marked "Glendale" at center. Toys work and trains travel in a circle around the track. Scattered wear from use w/paint nicks/scratches and lt. dust soiling. Fine overall.
