Toy is designed like a tree house w/large cuckoo clock on top of platform. Under platform is figure of Howdy on a swing next to tree trunk post w/character portraits of Howdy, Clarabell, Flub-A-Dub, Princess, Dilly Dally and Mr. Bluster. Additional images of some of these characters appear on the sides of the clock. Clarabell is on the clock’s face and cuckoo separate attachment is Flub-A-Dub. Toy comes w/ built-in key and works. As Howdy swings, a bell rings and Flub-A-Dub moves back and forth as clock hands rotate. Complete w/original cardboard string tag noting how toy is to be wound. Slight fade and tiniest traces of wear w/scattered pinpoint paint nicks and trace of lt. oxidation behind Flub-A-Dub. Fine overall. Comes w/box lid only which has image of toy and two side panels featuring Howdy character portraits. Scattered aging and trace of edge wear. VG/Fine. Among the rarest and best-designed Howdy Doody items and also a very desirable item in the wind-up toy collecting community.
