Auction #206 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1278 in auction 206
Item Description
10" tall with ornate cello and brass bar pin showing clasped hands and eagle with "In Union There Is Strength" text. Suspended white cloth ribbon includes rippled cloth American flags and holds brass-framed cello of anvil and hammer. Two small 1/8" holes to ribbon. Main blue ribbon has text reading "Buckeye Union No. 226 I.B. Of B. - Columbus, Ohio." Ribbon color has faded slightly. This union became the International Brotherhood of Blacksmiths & Helpers (I.B. of B. & H.) in 1903, so the lack of the "H" dates this to 1902 or earlier. Reverse is black/silver for attending funerals of members. Fine and rare with great cello inserts.
