Item Description
8.5x10.5" by nearly 3" thick black faux alligator-covered album w/paper pages. Interior pages are VF and the 188 cards on pages plus the 12 loose cards are pretty much Mint as sent from 1927-1936. Most cards are in reply to station NU6CII and later W6CII operated by E.D. McNeely of Tujunga, CA. Album comes w/copy of "Illustrated Log And Call Book" magazine, undated but c. 1930. VG. Five original snapshots of radio equipment (corner off one), one American Radio Relay League "Radiogram," and a very interesting hand-written two-page double-sided letter from the "Chief Telegraphist" of the "British Warship Durban" at "Hong Kong China" (small splits). The 200 QSL cards (sent to confirm contact between stations) have only four or so from the US. Most are worldwide and include US Naval Station Guantanamo Bay plus Alaska and Hawaii plus Argentina, Australia, Cuba, China, Canada, Chile, Dutch East Indies, Costa Rica, Guam, Germany, Japan, Malaya, Ocean Islands, New Zealand, Mexico, Peru, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Nicaragua, Rhodesia, Tahiti, USSR and a few others. Many cards include interesting comments. Some were sent as postcards w/stamps, others have blank reverses. An amazing collection of early cards.
