Item Description
9” tall doll with stuffed velveteen body and composition head. Underside of foot has “Popeye” tag with 1929 King Features Syndicate copyright and Dean’s Rag Book Co. Ltd. name. While tag has 1929 copyright, doll was made in the 1930s by famous English company that also produced Mickey and Minnie Mouse dolls. Body has noticeable aging, head has a few tiny pinpoint paint flakes. No pipe. Fine appearance. Unusual composition head, as Dean’s dolls are usually seen all plush/fabric.
