4.75x7-3/8”hardcover dated 1863 and 1864 titled “The Rebel Invasion Of Maryland & Pennsylvania And Battle of Gettysburg” by eyewitness M. Jacobs. Published by J.B. Lippincott Philadelphia. 48 pages. Frontispiece has Gettysburg battlefield fold-out map which opens to 11.75x18” showing troop positions of both sides July 1-3, 1863 w/Union forces in red, rebel forces in blue. Covers a bit worn, pages having aging, map has 2”tear at center bottom edge, 1”tear at upper and lower right. Original owners name “A. Rothwell” in ink on first blank page. Book and map are Good/VG overall. Historic. Issued while war was still in progress.
