Item Description
9.75x13.5" mailing envelope contains complete Grape-Nuts 1944 premium. Envelope has illustration of Harrigan and boy playing w/premium, reverse has assembly instructions. No mailing label. Premium consists of two 9x13" stiff paper punch-out sheets w/parts, 9x12" paper target map w/aerial view of Japanese "Harukai" harbor and small sealed envelope containing three marble bombs. Punch-out pieces are for model airplane designed w/built-in bomb sight plus nine ship, tank and plane targets. 1" square glass mirror for bomb sight popped loose where glued to sheet w/some silvering loss but easily re-glued in place if desired. Punch-outs are are mostly unpunched, w/about 25% perforations loose. Only wing section of plane is completely loose. VF. The fragile thin paper map has tanned w/age and has a few tiny margin tears/chips but is totally clean and as far as these go, still an Exc. example. Sealed marble envelope has some lt. bends but Exc. Scarce unpunched and complete. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold, accompanied by a letter to that effect from Gordon Gold.
