Item Description
Lot of three published by Marvel Comics. First is "The Invincible Iron Man" #170 from May, 1983. CGC 9.8 w/white pages. This issue features the first full appearance of James Rhodes as Iron Man, having taken over from an alcoholic Tony Stark. Issue also features an appearance by Magma. Denny O'Neil story. Luke McDonnell and Steve Mitchell cover and art. Next is "Iron Man" #282 from July, 1992. CGC 9.8 w/white pages. This issue features the first full appearance of War Machine and an appearance by Nick Fury. Len Kaminski story. Kevin Hopgood and Bob Wiacek cover and art. Next is "Iron Man" #283 from Aug., 1992. CGC 9.8 w/white pages. This was the second issue of "Iron Man" that was dominated by War Machine, as the "Iron Man" title for this issue and the previous issue had "War Machine" printed over it. Issue features the same creative team as the previous issue. A great trio showing the rise of James Rhodes and War Machine's popularity, as seen by his inclusion in the recent box office blockbuster "Iron Man" film franchise.
