Item Description
1.25” button from small series depicting movie cowboys issued by Freihoffer bakeries in Reading, Pa. This example includes “Bill Boyd” facsimile signature portraying him in the character of Hopalong Cassidy with rim text reading “For Democracy 100%.” Some of these we’ve seen with a backpaper reading “Freihoffer’s/The Perfect Loaf/©1942/Jay-Gee/Enterprises/Reading, Pa.” However, that paper is not present on this example and has been missing from a few of the other examples we’ve seen for other cowboys such as Roy Rogers, Charles Starrett, Bill Elliot and Gene Autry. One of only three examples we've offered in five decades. Rare and NM displaying Mint.
