Item Description
Brass medallion 1.5" tall with loop at top shows Liberty's hand holding torch flanked by letters "RI" apparently for Rhode Island. Rest of text is "The Torch Of Liberty/W.S.S." Reverse has printed text as well as hand engraved name and reads "W.S.S. Award Charles W. Greene (hand engraved) For Distinguished Service Nov. (hand engraved) 1919." Trivial luster loss. Second is heavy bronze 1.75" tall badge inscribed "W.S.S." at top while below the eagle is engraved name "Geo. W. Plasterer." Below this is circular area reading "Honorable Service And Patriotic Devotion 1918." In our photo a few white specks of old dried cleaning material appear but probably 95% of this has now been removed. Piece displays at least NM. A rare unique pair.
