Item Description
Ten of these eleven pieces are on their original vintage cardboard all with some hand inked notations. One of the cards is heavily spotted but most are in Extremely Fine condition considering their age. The smallest card is 3-3/8" tall while the largest is 5-1/8" tall with the other cards and medals to scale. The medals themselves are all NM to Mint. Top to bottom and left to right as per our photo these are: official victory medal with bar inscribed "France." Next is medal with front titled "They Did Not Pass." Reverse has text with panel to fill in name although this is blank. This was used to award people serving from the town of Ludlow, Pa. Next shows emblem of "Patriotic Order Sons of America." Reverse indicates this group presented this medal "To The Member To Serve In The World War 1917-1919." Next is cross shape reading on back "Presented By The Knights Of St. George In Grateful Recognition Of Patriotic Service Rendered During The World War." Card is missing small section at top. Next is watch fob with large text on back "'America First' Emblem Of Our Glorious Country The Seal Of The United States Of America Compliments Of L. F. Grammes & Sons Allentown, Pa." Next is similar fob on a ribbon but in bronze luster. Reverse reads same as preceding item. Next is rather large "Victory" medal. Reverse has place to engrave name although blank with rest indicating the citizens of Allentown gave this to those who served. Next is "Victory" medal with reverse having place to engrave name and text indicating the citizens of Lynn Township/Leigh County presented this to those who served.
