Item Description
9.5x20x2" deep box. Marks Bros. Co. c. 1934. Same circus theme illustration appears on the lid, box bottom has separate backdrop board and features Mickey as ringmaster, Pluto as clown, Minnie balancing on the back of Horace and Clarabelle on trapeze. Box lid shows obvious wear w/9-7/8" end panel loose (but included) and side panel missing 5" section and two 1" side splits. Box bottom has one corner split. Box is Good, w/lid's main panel remaining clean and bright and still displays nicely. The thick cardboard backdrop fits into slotted wood block at the top inside of the box bottom. Attached to this board are four cardboard pieces depicting Mickey and Minnie on trapeze w/raised hands holding wooden cups. These separate pieces are mounted on a post and a ball is placed in the cup on the top one which in turn tips and causes the ball to fall from one piece to the next. At bottom it rings a bell and then rolls into the box bottom into one of the designated score areas. Generic ball is missing. One of the Mickey pieces has a crease but o/w this board shows just lt. wear along bottom edge from placement in the wood block. The box bottom insert shows small trace of wear, few small surface paper rubs. Bright and clean contents, VF overall. Great design. Rare.
