Item Description
These 1" litho buttons were a popular collecting mania in the 1950s, the creation of Armour Franks hot dogs. Each has the company name on the reverse. This group of 125 buttons in total breaks down as follows: in the first four rows are the complete set of 24. 20 of these are Exc. to Mint and four are Fine. In the next three rows are 27 duplicates with two still in cellophane. 23 of these are Exc. to Mint and 4 are Fine. In the last seven rows are 74 unique color variations including 20 still in cellophane and six rare varieties with silver or gold color metallic backgrounds (one still in cellophane). Of these 74, 62 are Exc. to Mint and 12 are Fine. Our earlier auction group of only 30 from the archives of button maker Green Duck realized over $300. A truly complete set of the 24 slogans in 26 color combinations totals 624 different buttons. This group of 125 buttons in total is the most extensive collection known to us.
