Item Description
Each of these is 7/8" produced by Whitehead & Hoag and issued by them as well as used as a button premium by American Pepsin Gum. There are six buttons in each set and the set was issued with either red lettering or blue lettering. All 12 buttons are offered in this complete grouping comprising both sets. The Indians pictured are: Red Cloud, Lean Wolf, Black Eye, Rushing Bear, Sitting Bull, Spotted Tail. Three of these buttons have the embossed W&H name on the reverse or their backpaper and nine have the Pepsin paper. Tone of the cream colored bkg. varies slightly but there is almost no stain with tiny exception of a 1/16" dot on the rim edge of just one. While these are scarce, especially without stain, also see the following rare 1.25" version.
