Item Description
In 1974, Los Angeles, Ca. radio station KHJ began their "Superstar Morning Show," where a famous musician came in and performed DJ duties for the morning. On Sept. 20, 1974, John Lennon came to KHJ for his turn hosting the "Superstar Morning Show" and to promote his new album "Walls And Bridges" and an album he had produced for Harry Nilsson. It serves as no surprise that Lennon heavily rotated songs from these albums during his turn as a DJ. Lot of four original film negative strips (two are blank), comprising 11 photographic images in total. Negatives come in original glassine sleeves and are NM. Negatives show candid poses from within KHJ and nine show show Lennon exiting the studio w/police escort, waving to crowd, granting short interview, hugging fan and getting into limo. Negatives come w/original 8x10" glossy contact sheet and nine 4x6" photo prints. Next item is original Super 8 film reel of color footage showing same sequence of Lennon leaving studio as mentioned in the negatives above. Original Kodak Kodachrome Movie Film box has marker notations about content and shows wear. Fine w/Exc. film. Negatives and film come w/typed and signed letter from woman who took the photos/footage, granting transfer of rights to new owner, although no copyright is included, or guarantee of rights. As a bonus, lot comes w/DVD transfer of Super 8 film footage.
