Auction #206 - Part II
Item numbers 1279 through 2976 in auction 206
Item Description
Large, freestanding pyrite crystal groups comprise a very small percentage of those mined every year. As a representative of that tiny percentage, it is our pleasure to present this visually pleasing specimen. Measuring 4.25x7.75x3.5", the cluster weighs 8.75 lbs. Some of the larger crystals measure 1.75x2.5" and 1.5x2.25" w/many other facets that superbly catch the light. It was mined from the Huanzala Mine in the Huallanca District of Dos de Mayo Province in Peru at an altitude of 14,000 feet. Some of the world's finest pyrite crystals are found in this area as evidenced by the example we are offering.
