14x22" cardboard poster for Aug., 1958 Martinique Theatre performance of Miller's dramatization of the Salem witch trials that took place in the Province of Massachusetts Bay during 1692-1693. Miller wrote the play as an allegory of McCarthyism, when the US government blacklisted accused communists. Poster has handling wear along margins and lt. dust soiling/aging. Two pinholes at margins. Fine. 13x20.25" cardboard poster for Oct. 3, 1966 Village Theatre performance of African-American writer of poetry, drama, fiction, essays, and music criticisms Jones' work. Jones is the author of numerous books of poetry and has taught at a number of universities, including the State University of New York at Buffalo and the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He received the PEN Open Book Award in 2008 for "Tales Of The Out And The Gone." Poster has some lt. handling wear w/two tiny right angle indentations to the pupils of Jones' image. Fine/VF.
