Item Description
Both 1950s. Lidded "Venus" box contains 6.25" tall figural Castille soap depicting nude woman in similar pose as seen in Botticelli's "The Birth Of Venus" classical painting. Made in Bavaria - Western Germany and sold by Marton Freres Inc. in the US. Soap has typical aging but remains structurally sound. Box shows some wear and both are Fine. 5.75" glazed ceramic figural bottle stopper designed as nude woman, w/holes where her nipples would be. These holes are connected to spout that runs through cork attached to bottom and function as pouring spouts. Wonderful whimsical design. Typical hairline crazing. pinpoint flake on chin, o/w VF.
