Item Description
Lot of two. 10x13.5". First is horizontal cartoon from "Puck." With caption below reading "Missed!, No turkey for you this year Benjamin!" Illustration shows dismayed looking Butler with axe in tree stump. Handle on axe reads " Demagogism." Fleeing turkey has notation reading "Governorship." Illustrator's name "Gillam" is seen at bottom right on fence rail. Pencil notation on back reads "11/28/83." Second is "Puck" cover from Sept. 10, 1884. Caption at bottom of illustration reads "They Bogas Working Man and His Lonesome Boom./Butler (to his valet) "Keep an eye on the valuables while I go an address the mass meeting!'." Illustrator's name at bottom reads "F.OPPER." Slightly uneven on top and left margin. Both would matt to Exc.
