Item Description
8.5x11" Oct., 1956 first issue of "Teenage Rock And Roll Review" has Elvis Presley photo cover and mentions Pat Boone, Alan Freed and Tommy Small. Six-page interior article written by Presley himself has many bw photos. Other photos include Tommy Small w/sex symbol Jayne Mansfield, Bill Haley & The Comets, Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers, Ruth Brown, Fats Domino, The Platters, Bo Diddley and more. Back cover has ad for Alan Freed's radio show. Pinch creases to spine. Fine/VF. Plain paper sleeve contains 45-rpm single of Alan Freed's "Rock 'N Roll Boogie," a rerecording of Freddie Mitchell's "Moondog Boogie," w/the vocal sung as opposed to shouted. Released on the Coral label in 1956, this is a promotional copy as noted by the "Sample Copy - Not For Sale" text on the label. B-side is "The Grey Bear." Trace of surface wear to each side but nothing significant and should play fine. Dust soiling to labels. VG.
