Item Description
10x13" print w/upper 80% very tanned w/age, but all over so that w/matting the piece will display very attractively. Fillmore was the last member of the Whig Party to serve as president, but in 1856 he headed the American Party or Know-Nothing Party ticket which was concerned that immigrants, particularly Irish Catholics, threatened Protestant American values. The slogan above the eagle reads "The Constitution And The Union." Bottom margin has print title, Currier name and 1856 date. Hake #3001 w/2004 Guide value of $750.
