Reddevil is the modern name for the Golden Age Lev Gleason Publications Daredevil, not to be confused the Daredevil that has appeared in Marvel Comics since the 1960s. The original Daredevil was created by Jack Binder for a backup feature in "Silver Streak" #6 in Sept., 1940. The character was then pitted against Silver Streak's lead character, the villainous Claw. It was around this time that publisher Lev Gleason launched Daredevil's own comic - "Daredevil Battles Hitler" #1 in July, 1941. Daredevil is now in the public domain, and as a result many publishers have used him to varying degrees, using different names for the character.
