Item Description
See Marx Davy Crockett rifle #2168. This rifle was made in France. c. 1955. 32.5" long rifle has wooden stock and metal barrel/hardware. Rifle stock has "Davy Crockett" name in yellow and has designed on rifle butt. Rifle is totally different from the Marx Davy Crockett rifle produced around the same time. This features an authentic flintlock design. Scattered wear to bear and stock and moderate oxidation to hammer area. Fine overall. The die-cut cardboard slipcase features similar art as used on Marx slipcase, including image of Fess Parker as Davy Crockett, simulated leather stitching and fringe accents, etc. Different scenes depict Davy and bear and Western vista whereas the other packaging includes image of him hiding behind a rock. French text translates to "The True Gun Of Davy Crockett - King Of The Wild Frontier." Moderate handling wear, creases and 2.25" tear to die-cut handle. One end also has some additional scattered creases, .25x1" tear and pair of 3" long tears. Good. Rare and the first example of this gun we've offered in our 46 years.
