1940s. 6x10x9” tall scarcer full color variety box w/great graphics of sailor and flags in tower directing dirigible and plane in sunset. Box has small tears on two upper corners, a small puncture on each side. One side has .5” archival tape repair at top and moderate insect damage. This side Fine, other side displays VF. Contains interesting wind-up toy consisting of 24” long folding arm which attaches to 8” tall lighthouse style tower. Wind-up airplane with built-in key and “Sky Rangers Dirigible” are attached to the 2 arms. By winding plane tightly and releasing, it travels along the ground at first and then actually takes off and flies in a circle parallel to the dirigible. Toy components have nice graphics including detailed interior views of pilot at helm of dirigible, Navy men operating other machinery. Plane is version w/two different interior cockpit views, one w/two pilots and stewardess and the other w/two additional passengers. Plane has a few lt. spots of oxidation on wings , a few scattered tiny paint nicks but all pieces are bright and glossy as produced. VF. Has built-in key and works well.
