11.75x16" wooden plaque has brass finish scroll w/engraved text stating Sammy Davis Jr. as "Not Only The Greatest Entertainer The World Has Ever Seen But A Man Who Lived To Become A Shining Example And Inspiration To Humanity." Award was presented to the Davis family sometime after Sammy's death on May 16, 1990. 100 Black Men of America is a men's civic organization/service club whose goal is to educate and empower African American children and teens. As of 2009 the organization has 110 chapters and over 10,000 members in different cities in the United States and throughout the world. This award was presented by the New Jersey chapter. Plaque has lt. trace of wear and a 3.5" wide faint "ghost" image from previous price sticker at bottom. VF. Neat display piece.
