Item Description
Five-piece 1920s set, consisting of 12.25" long cast iron engine marked "Ives 1132" on both side; 7.5" long "Ives N.Y.C.&H.R." coal car marked "40"; 11.5" long "Penna. Coal & Coke Co." hopper car w/opening dump bed and "PRR" symbol and additional "194" notation; 11.25" long "Ventilator And Refrigerator" car, w/"Santa Fe" and "S.F.R.D." markings on each side as well as real train statistics notations; and 11.5" long "Caboose" w/"The Ives Railway Lines" name at top and additional "195" number notation. All are painted tin w/plated accessories w/exception of engine, which is painted cast iron. Engine has small ringing bell and vintage lightbulb on front. "Ventilator And Refrigerator" car has opening sliding doors on each side. Excluding engine and coal car, each is marked "Made In The Ives Shops." Engine ran when still in possession of consignor, but we have not tested functionality. Set has scattered wear in the form of paint flakes/scratches and would benefit from a cleaning. VG overall.
