Item Description
1.75” with backpaper naming maker W&H but also the copyright holder of the design “Austin & Craw South Norwalk, Conn.” Trivial dust on the backpaper. Front of the button includes words and images for a rebus slogan. Images are a frying pan, a humanized milk can holding aloft a liquor bottle with contents pouring out while in the other hand is a cocktail glass. There is also a buffalo. Resulting slogan combining words and pictures becomes “Souvenir Pan A Merry-Can Buffalo N.Y. 1901.” Bottom edge has tiny 1901 copyright text naming same firm as on the backpaper. NM and displays Mint. Scarce.
