Item Description
First is 3.5”x5.5” postcard showing Theodore Roosevelt with text “The President Will Press The Button April 26 Inviting The Whole World.” Bit of tanning and small bit of penciling at lower right. Card was cancelled and has Norfolk 1907 postmark. VG. Next is 6.25”x.75” thickness brown color plaster plaque with high relief image of Indian beneath Expo title. 1” dia. shallow flake off the back top edge not visible from the front. Next is 4.25” spoon with aerial view of the Exposition in the bowl. Small silvering loss. Next is 3-1/8” knife showing on one side “Auditorium And Hall Of Congress” while other side has “Greeting” message. One blade is very worn down but the other just has a tiny nick on its tip. The grips remain clean. The next is 1.25” square by 2-1/8” tall ceramic pipe formed in the shape of the church tower. Covered in a pattern of bricks with Expo name on one side and opposite side reading “Patented July 31 1906.” A hole for a stem is on lower side. Unusual and Exc. Last is probable match holder made of white metal finished in gold. Front depicts “Powhatan” with additional scenes and text around the other sides. Open at the top to hold matches although there is no particular area with roughness to serve as a striker. Tiny bit of gold color off the face but vast majority remains. An interesting group with numerous rarities.
