Item Description
All four carry name of maker Phila. Badge Co. The first three are 3.5" while the fourth is a 3.25" vertical oval. In order we have "Fels Jr. High/Class of '60'." pictured is beatnik with a drum between his crossed legs with small caption below "Maynard." This button is obviously inspired by the 1959-1963 CBS-TV show Many Loves Of Dobie Gillis. The show introduced America's 1st TV beatnik Maynard G. Krebs, portrayed by actor Bob Denver. Cello has many dark brown spots but still with full gloss. Next is undated for "Northeast High Vikings." Numerous but tiny brown dots on the extreme outer edge. Next is also for Northeast but represented by the initials "NE" and issued for graduating class of "June '63." Tiny smudge of red color on upper edge as printed but the rest is clean. Last in unusual oval format reads "Hail Northeast." Shows a stylized figure meant to represent a Viking but with the head also resembling a missile. Left edge has speck of missing celluloid along with scattered small dots and a light stain on left about .5"x1.25". The first two buttons have minor bends on the reverse pins but remain functional. All are scarce limited issues.
