Item numbers 1 through 1499 in auction 182
Item Description
This beautifully 1.5" has so much going on that we will only hit the highlights. A white elephant stands atop a football representing the "People" with additional text "Rah! Rah!! Rah!!! A Safety's The Score Parker & Davis 1904." The elephant's feet are bound with a metal band reading "Protection" and this leads to a ball and chain with caption "The Trust." The primary rim inscription is "Uncle Sam's 'White' Elephant - Its' Game - Its' Finish." The platform and banner on the elephant's back refer to "Rooseveltism-Grand Old Pirate." .25" faint rub line near the elephant's tail just barely catches reflected light. All else is totally clean and glossy with perfect centering. Complete with the "White Elephant" backpaper which is unique to this button. A beautiful example of this classic which displays Mint.
