Item Description
General Mills Kix Cereal issued a total of 22 different premium plastic airplanes in a series in 1946. There were six numbered sets w/four planes per set (two were repeated). Each set was ordered separately for a box top and 10¢. This is a complete set of all 22 gray plastic planes ranging in size from .75" to 2.5" long. Included are - P-51 Mustang, P-38 Lightning, B-24 Liberator, B-26 Marauder, P-47 Thunderbolt, F6F Hellcat, B-17 Fortress, B-25 Mitchell, SB2C Helldiver, P-40 Warhawk, B-29 Super Fortress (2), A-29 Hudson, F4F Wildcat, P-39 Airacobra, PB2Y Coronado, P-61 Black Widow (2), TBF Avenger, P-63 King Cobra, A-30 Baltimore, P-59 Airacomet, F4U Corsair, C-54 Skymaster. All are Exc. All but one set comes w/correct numbered mailer boxes. All come w/folders and clipped panel from cereal box showing specific planes in each set. Boxes shows varying degrees of wear, w/most most having complete mailing labels. VG-Fine overall. Set also comes w/two different newspaper advertisement clippings and a cereal box panel. The most extensive group we have ever offered of this classic premium. Rare as a complete set.
