Item Description
Both are from 1939. First is Whitman #6906 . Box is 12x17x1.5" deep w/48 puzzles, one for each state. Lid has cellophane tape repair on upper right corner. Scattered aging, but Fair illustration remains bright/clean. Box Fine. Puzzles are complete with various illustrated themes of each appearing on the state map, list of state statistics, and six illustrated vignettes of state-related scenes. Trylon & Perisphere appear on New York puzzle. Also includes announcement of corresponding book titled "Pageant Of The States." Contents Exc./NM. Next is 10-1/2x12-1/2" mailing envelope from sponsor Sloan's Liniment holding complete 100-piece jigsaw puzzle assembling to 10x11-1/2". Puzzle scene is nice aerial view art of grounds. Individual exhibit buildings are indicated by tiny numerous dots identified by numbered legend across bottom. Envelope is worn, opened end has small cellophane tape repair at lower left corner. VG. Puzzle has fresh glossy appearance, Exc. Nice pair.
