This is one of the built-up kits issued directly by Aurora to stores for promotional purposes. From Aurora "Guys And Gals Of All Nations" series. ©1955. Attached cardboard backdrop has Aurora logo and Chinese gate imagery as well as "A Fascinating New Hobby For The Entire Family" text. Backdrop also mentions that model builder could "Assemble Them 'As Is' In Beautiful Ivory Or Paint To A Beautiful Finish" behind the appropriate assembled model. Exceptionally detailed and highlighted by air-brushing to the "China" map base. Tiny piece out of main base, but still displays NM. These store display models are rare.
