Item Description
Lot of 12 buttons, all c. 1968-1969. Lot includes complete set of six 1.75" dia. buttons designed by Max to promote the 1969 movie western musical "Paint Your Wagon" starring Lee Marvin, Clint Eastwood, and Jean Seberg. Nice set featuring color-tinted photos along w/film title at top and each has small Max copyright logo. These buttons are often found w/age spotting but this is an Exc. set. Next is rare "Love And Money" 3" dia. fundraiser button w/green cardboard backing. Front features Max's classic "Love" art and has "Peter Max" logo/name. Text reads in full "Help Fight M.S. - With Love - And Money." Glossy and Exc. Last five 1.75" dia. buttons are from same set featuring small "Peter Max" logo/name at bottom. Included are two different buttons w/British flag design, apple and star designs as well as design featuring Max's face. This is the scarcest in the set. Apple and one flag button have scattered age spots and other flag is slightly faded. Fine. Rest are glossy and Exc. From the David Baker Collection.
