Item Description
27x41" one-sheet poster for original release of 1966 film directed by Michelangelo Antonioni about a photographer, played by David Hemmings, who believes he may have witnessed a murder and unwittingly taken photographs of the killing. It was Antonioni's first English-language film. The film also stars Vanessa Redgrave. The American release of the film w/explicit content (by contemporary standards) by a major Hollywood studio was in direct defiance of the Production Code. Its subsequent outstanding critical and box office success proved to be one of the final events that led the Code being abandoned in 1968 in favor of the MPAA film rating system. Poster features image of photographer shooting provocatively dressed model. Folded as issued, poster has numerous small creases along fold lines and .25" tears at fold crease intersections. Poster has slight fade, which is more noticeable to red areas. Fine overall.
