Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard box contains 6.25" long painted die-cast warplane w/plastic canopy and 8.75" wingspan. #467. Early 1950s. Box shows plane leaving aircraft carrier w/guns blazing. This is repeated on all sides. Box lists features that include folding wings, retractable landing gear and movable propeller. Box is lightly aged and shows some handling wear w/scattered creases. Fine. Toy is the classic Hubley plane of this period, clearly modeled after the Chance Vought F4U Corsair, a warplane that saw service primarily in World War II and the Korean War. Toy has .25" paint flake on one wing tip and spot of paint on inside of plastic cockpit canopy (which has typically shrunk slightly w/age but remains nicely in place for display) but is o/w VF/Exc.
