Item Description
17x19x3" deep box contains c. 1935 set "No. 306/2." Set has some similarities as well as some distinct differences to the Lionel train set (see item #1806). The large box label 10x12.5" has all-over trace of dust soiling and several small surface paper flakes although not really affecting the overall appearance. The box itself has obvious wear which includes edge splits and tears that have been re-glued as well as some color touch-ups. Box overall remains VG for display, the label has a Fine appearance. Box is complete with cardboard inserts to separate the various pieces. The tin litho engine is 7.5" long and totally different from the Lionel version. This engine is marked "Silver Link." Comes with a replacement key and works. The three 6" long tin litho train cars have the same images on sides while the roof panels are plain yellow and lack the detailing of the Lionel set. The 4" long coal car is similar and with same design including Mickey composition figure, however this has a tin panel representing coal which was not included on the Lionel set. Coal car reads "Mickey The Stoker." This set has six curved track sections. The main difference is rather than having die-cut cardboard accessories, this set has a beautiful all-litho tent. Four side panels feature choice illustrations. The top of the tent is complete with 4 matching "Mickey Mouse Circus" tin litho flags that fit around the sides. Also, for the top of the tent there is a recessed area complete with a wood block that holds a striped flag. Entire set has general scattered trace of wear from use but still remains quite nice overall. Fine. The Barker figure is missing. This is the first time we've ever offered this English version.
