Item Description
Child's tin litho toy washer is 5" diameter by 7.5" tall. 1930s by The Ohio Art Co. Side panels of box feature two different scenes, one of Mickey and Minnie washing clothes, the other preparing to hang them on a clothesline. Right side of box missing all flaps with obvious edge wear from removal including an additional 1.5x3" edge piece missing from one of the four panels. All panels on left side of box are intact although one has 3.5" edge split. Box has some additional scattered aging including some scattered moisture spots, one panel has 1" tear with neat glue repair above Mickey's head. Box is still very displayable and rarely found. Aside from being incomplete, VG. Washer features wrap-around design with two different scenes of Mickey and Minnie. One is of them washing clothes while the other is of Minnie angrily raising her fist as Mickey looks on holding his hand to his head as a rooster digs its claws into the dirt soiling a sheet that hangs on the washline. Has removable top with crank handle and attached inner tin agitator plunger. Appears unused with just the tiniest scattered traces of wear. Remains totally bright, glossy and still a N. Mint example for this toy. The nicest we've ever seen.
