Item Description
Pair of Disney Studios Christmas cards, first is for 1947 and measures 7.25x8" and is on stiff paper card w/illustration of Mickey Mouse on front in Santa Claus suit removing his bearded Santa mask. Card opens to reveal a great montage of Disney character portraits from films "Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs" to the then latest release "Fun And Fancy Free." 1948 calendar at sides. Card back has small illustration of Jiminy Cricket. Lightest trace of aging but Exc. Comes w/original mailing envelope w/"Walt Disney - Burbank, California" return address and inked name/address. Envelope shows margin wear and scattered aging. VG. Second card is for 1948 and measures 7x8" and is on slightly textured paper w/full color art featuring image on front of Mickey Mouse in pajamas w/candle that illuminates large snowflake. Card opens to reveal scene of Mickey, Pluto and Donald Duck w/Christmas gifts. Mickey's present reads "So Dear To My Heart" out of which jumps Danny the Black Lamb and The Wise Old Owl. Monthly calendar at sides. Card reverse has three separate illustrations for upcoming Disney films along w/brief text. One image is of Ichabod Crane and Mr. Toad w/film title noted as "Two Fabulous Characters" which was, of course, later changed to "The Adventures Of Ichabod And Mr. Toad." Other images are for films "Cinderella" and "Alice In Wonderland." Card shows handling wear/aging and is Fine overall.
