Item Description
Pair of girl's watches. Both ©1948 Fawcett Publications Inc. "Captain Marvel" watch has 1" dia. chrome metal case, w/replaced red leather band. Smaller of two cases produced (see watches #2436-2437). Dial features full figure image of Captain Marvel holding fighter jet and "Captain Marvel" name. Watch shows lt. trace of wear to band and case is aged. VG w/dial remaining Exc. These smaller sized cases are much scarcer than the larger cases produced. "Mary Marvel" watch has 1" dia. chromed metal case w/original blue vinyl-covered leather bands. Dial features full figure image of Mary Marvel flying and "Mary Marvel" name. Band shows lt. wear and is Fine. Back of case has some minute pinpoint dots of luster off, noticeable only upon close inspection. When viewed from the front, case retains bright full luster. Dial is bright and Exc. Both watches are running and hands glow.
