Auction #208 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1277 in auction 208
Item Description
This 1.25" rare historical souvenir pictures the globe plus photos of competing claimants of Pole discovery in 1909 showing Cook at left and Peary at right flanking the text "I Discovered The-." However, missing below (originally suspended by a small wire) and serving as a 3-dimensional rebus is a 1-3/8" tall pointed piece of wood (shaped like the Washington Monument). Reverse has Bastian paper. We've seen only two examples complete with the pole and about three examples incomplete. Exc. and displays Mint. Rare.
