Item Description
Each of these is embossed metal and the first is 2-7/8" tall with the others a little smaller. The first is highly embossed with portrait of young boy at center surrounded by text "Junior Forest Fire Fighting Warden." His name is above and below is "Protect Our Trees." This item originated from Southern Pulpwood Conservation Association founded in 1939 by leaders of the pulp and paper industry to improve land management, educate the public and promote forest conservation. This item likely dates from the mid-1950s or earlier when comic books were produced and sponsored by International Paper Company, c. 1956. This piece is NM. Next are a pair of embossed brass pieces issued by "Hartford Fire Insurance Company." One dated 1955 has a small ripple in the metal. The other is dated 1956 and is undamaged. Last is a 1950s "Smokey" Bear with badge reading "Junior Forest Ranger/Prevent Forest Fires." Also see Smokey badge along with Ranger Rick button #1532.
