Item Description
Rare 1.25" with name of W&H on reverse but larger text for jobber W.F. Miller & Co. Touch of age on the paper. The celluloid has a microscopic thin coat of varnish with a number of pinpoint dots in the surface that catch reflected light. We emphasize the button displays totally clean and glossy and the presence of this thin varnish is not at all apparent unless viewed microscopically. Wonderful scene of the interior of a railroad sleeping car. Eight male and female heads emerge from green draperies with one women tugging on the white jacket of the black Porter who carries a whist broom and pair of shoes in one hand with his other hand clutching his hat in desperation as everyone demands "'Put Me Off At Buffalo.'" A rare and beautiful button.
