Item Description
Lot includes three 7.25x7.5x3.75" wide sets of stereoscope slides each boxed to look like two bound volumes and ready for shelf display. These include volumes 1-6 of the "Stereoscopic Library - World War Through The Stereoscope." released in the 1920s by the Keystone View Co. Set consists of 300 numbered stereoscope cards. Cards show various aspects of the War, some show trench warfare, artillery, battlefield casualties, warships, tanks, wounded veterans w/nurses, bi-planes, balloons, zeppelins, U-boats, Salvation Army, etc. as well as Generals Pershing and Joffre, Admiral Beatty and President Coolidge. All cards have slight warp but are o/w Exc. Card cases show moderate wear w/aging and rubs to covers. Fine overall. These come w/matching 5.5x7.75" Keystone View Co. hardcover "The World War Through The Stereoscope" book edited by Major Joseph Mills Hanson. This is a fourth edition (1927) and includes several photos and two fold-out maps attached to last page and back inside cover. This show obvious insect damage along edges/fold lines. Leather spine is partially loose and books shows wear/aging. VG overall w/clean, VF pages. Last item in lot is large and impressive 9.25x11" cloth-bound hardcover "U.S. Official Pictures Of The World War" book published by the Pictorial Bureau in 1920. Embossed cover shows American World War I soldier firing rifle and book contains 925 pages reproducing hundreds of photos from the War. Inside front cover has inked inscription of US soldier. Covers have lt. warp/wear and are Fine/VF w/Exc. contents.
